Statement of Purpose
The following sentence summarizes everything we want to do at Crossway Community. We desire to do this out of a heart of obedience to you Lord.
In Matthew 22:36-39, Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it; ye shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Also in Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus said, “All authority has been given to me in Heaven and on earth, Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded to you; and lo I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
To Reach
We believe this will be realized through each believers understanding “life style evangelism.” This is simply developing relationships with those we encounter in our normal routine of life. Thus, opening the door to a friendship, this will in turn provide opportunities to introduce them to the love of Jesus.
To Teach
We believe this will be realized when the believer joins wholeheartedly in fellowship with one another and the Lord Jesus. It is in this atmosphere of family that we mature in our faith.
To Send
We believe this will be realized when the believer matures in faith, understanding it is our responsibility as part of the family of God that we reproduce the love of God to an unlovely world. John 3:!6 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
We exist to fulfill these three missions. You’ll notice, the longer you are here the more you will hear this in different ways. Learning the purpose of a church takes a lot of repetition. Some people get the first time, while other get it the 50th time. The secret is….
JUST GET IT…AMEN!
